There are many ways to get to Pompeii. Check our article to know how to get to the ruins!

FROM NAPLES CENTRAL STATION

Take the CIRCUMVESUVIANA TRAINS TO SORRENTO and get off at the train station “Pompei Scavi Villa dei Misteri”.

    Check the timetable at https://www.sorrentoinsider.com/en/naples-to-sorrento-train-schedule.

  1. The Circumvesuviana train tickets are not bookable online; you need to buy the tickets at the train station.

**Don't get wrong: make sure that your final destination is Sorrento** and not Poggiomarino. The train leaving from Naples to Poggiomarino stops at another station called just Pompeii - it is the modern town.

**The Circumvesuviana trains are usually crowded and late: there are daily delays and cancellations on this route; in addition, there is no luggage space most of the times**

    2) For a better service check the CAMPANIA EXPRESS TRAINS:

Special tourist line that runs along the same route as the Circumvesuviana between Naples and Sorrento, but stops at just a few stations and takes about 30 minutes less than the commuter trains to complete the trip. These trains have guaranteed seating, air conditioning, and space to store baggage.

Fantastic Transport and Guide for a private tour to Pompeii From India, we as a group of 11 adults, were searching for an interesting tour company for a private tour with a guide to Pompeii. I came across Stefano and Anto Cocoa through their website and wrote to them. It was an excellent experience. The bus was ready at our hotel in Sorrento exactly on time of the date in the morning. Anto was there with her bus driver and took us to Vesuvius and Pompeii.Extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic she took us to both the sites with her running informative and hilarious commentary. She made all of us sing in Italian language and had a great fun. At the end of the day, not being young like her, we were tired but she wasn't. It was a great fun.
